At the Old Harbour, you can find the local fish shop, which offers freshly caught lunch on the harbour front, while you can admire the wonderful architecture of the two bridges – as the old wooden ships gently rock in the harbour.
Continue from the Old Harbour past the shipyard to the fishermen’s cottages, which tell of the town’s former porpoise hunting and porpoise hunter jetty. The Hanging Gardens (terraced gardens), which are unique to the belt, can be seen from the harbour area as well as afar from the belt. Make a stop at the listening station and hear the porpoises clicking. From the Old Harbour in the summertime, there are often daily sailing trips with Mira3 or Aventura, where you can see porpoises or go fishing with MS Marianne.
The area is part of the climate town, where Middelfart town is developing a more climate-friendly and more beautiful town by renovating parts of the area to lead the increased volume of rainwater away from the town into the Little Belt, all harmoniously in line with the development of the urban environment.
Finish the day with a walk through Middelfart's charming pedestrian street with the many small specialty shops, or sample Middelfart's local cuisine at one of the many cosy cafés or restaurants.
