In the heart of the scenic island of Venø stands Denmark’s smallest church – Venø Church. Its origins date back to the early 15th century. In 1750, Venø welcomed its first priest, who also served as the island’s schoolteacher.
The church has undergone two major restorations, the most recent completed in 2016. Venø Church and its cemetery are the island’s most visited site, offering a peaceful and historic atmosphere. Inside the porch, visitors will find a detailed account of the church’s history. At the cemetery entrance, a QR code links to a podcast about the church – narrated by island residents via the Soundmap app.
