Dog park near Snaptun
In the exciting Tønballe Forest near Snaptun, a 9-hectare area has been designated as a dog park. Here, you can let your dog roam freely on a shared walk through the woods, where there are opportunities to meet other playful dogs.
About the dog park
Tønballe Dog Park is the largest in the region, offering a spacious 9 hectares for exploration. It differs from other dog parks in that it is not an "enclosed piece of forest."
Firstly, it is not untouched nature, but rather an old Christmas tree plantation, featuring good paths and grass almost everywhere. As a result, it is rarely muddy, allowing you to walk relatively dry even during the wetter months of the year.
Secondly, the dog park is not fenced. There is a fence on the west side, where there may be traffic. The other three sides border an apple orchard, the forest, and a gravel road leading to the parking lot. It is relatively safe to let your dog roam free here despite the lack of fencing, as it is a peaceful area, but you should keep this in mind if you have a little four-legged escape artist.
How to find the dog park in Tønballe Forest
Head toward Tønballevej—specifically, the part of the road that goes south from Snaptun. From here, a gravel road leads east toward the forest. There is a parking lot on the left side of the road. The dog park is located on the same side of the road as the parking lot.

Tønballe Forest is a beautiful and exciting forest that stretches down to the sea. From the parking lot and the dog park, you can access the forest, where several paths lead down to the water and around the woods. The path along the water, which is part of the Coastal Trail Snaptun-Juelsminde, is quite interesting, passing by the cannons at the old embankment and the lovely lookout tower.
