Lovely dog park near Horsens and Hedensted
Near the village of Ølsted lies Kærskoven Forest —one of the less-known but quite visit-worthy forests in Kystlandet. Here you’ll find a nice dog park where your dog can run freely on the forest floor, surrounded by large beech trees.
About the dog park
The dog park in Kærskoven is easy to access. From Vejlevej (the main road between Horsens and Vejle), you can turn onto Kærsholmvej, which leads into the forest. Here, you'll find the forest's parking area, and the entrance to the dog park is close by.
The enclosed dog park covers 2 hectares and has two entrances. There are no facilities within the dog park, which is simply a fenced-off natural area without paved paths, benches, or similar amenities. An information board is located at the entrance. Please bring your own dog waste bags and take them with you when you leave the dog park, as there are no trash bins.
Be aware that it can become muddy during the winter months.
About Kærskoven
It’s recommended to take a walk in Kærskoven Forest before heading home (of course, with your dog on a leash). Near the dog park, there is a small lake with picnic tables and a fire pit, making it a great spot to take a break.
There are marked trails through Kærskoven and the neighboring Dallerup Skov Forest, which connects to Kærskoven.
