Visitors can explore various crafts such as shoemaking, cooperage, carpentry, and dairy production, as well as see peat cutting and a modestly furnished farmhouse with a kitchen, bedroom, and parlor.
On the museum’s first floor, visitors can experience Smidstrup Miniby, built to a 1:100 scale, depicting the village as it looked in 1950. Additionally, there is a schoolroom and display cases with both permanent and temporary exhibitions, including a presentation of local Iron Age finds.
We prioritize creating an enjoyable experience for our visitors, and for elderly guests, the exhibitions may evoke childhood memories.
The local archive collects and preserves photographs and documents from Smidstrup Parish, which can be accessed on arkiv.dk.
