Paradise for animal loving children
Niels and Hanne live in a charming old farm in the village Kalhave. But there are many other residents at the farm. You can meet a variety of cute animals here.
You can get access to almost all the animals, talk to them, and pet them. If you come at 9 a.m. you can help feed the animals, and during the day, you can also feed them snacks.
The farm animals
The farm is home to horses, calves, a pig, rabbits, hens, guinea pigs, peacocks, cats, dogs, goats and ducks.
Pet the happy pig Bobolina, say hi to the rabbit couple Buller and Jasmin and their kits, admire the beautiful peacocks Henrik and Margrethe, talk to the bull calves Ferdinand and Frode, and make the guinea pigs Mango and Marcipan your new friends… and much more. Make sure to set plenty of time for the visit.
New animals are often added, and there are always baby animals. At Kæledyrsgården’s Facebook page you can follow the farm life and meet some of the farm’s many two/four legged residents.
Bring your packed lunch
There is a heated, roofed building where you are welcome to eat your lunch. There is also garden furniture in the courtyard, and a fire ring.
Children can use The Pet Farm’s toys or jump around in the straw playground. You can also play a variety of outdoor games – but beware! The peacocks and chickens walk around freely, and they might want to be spectators.
Opening hours and prices
Kæledyrsgården is open Tursday-Sunday 9 am-3 pm every week. The entry fee is 50 DKK per visitor. You can also choose to buy an annual family pass for 500 DKK which gives access for two adults and two children for a whole year.

Kalhave is located 15 kilometres west of Horsens, close to the Gudenå and villages such as Tørring and Uldum. You can easily combine a visit at the pet farm with other nearby experiences – no matter if you are interested in nature experiences, museums, or child-friendly activities. You might want to visit Uldum Mill Museum, where they still grind flour the traditional way. Or the open-air museum Hjortsvang Museum. Or why not go for a hike in the unique landscape at Denmark’s biggest marshland, Uldum Kær?
