Jegind Tap is a long, narrow spit extending from the southern tip of Jegindø into the Limfjord. Easily accessible via a public road, the area has long been a popular destination thanks to its excellent swimming spots and distinctive natural features.
At the tip of the approximately one-kilometer-long spit, the fjord continuously deposits large amounts of sand, creating a dynamic landscape with typical dune vegetation such as marram grass and beachgrass. This gives the area a coastal feel, even though it lies within the fjord.
The inner part of Jegind Tap features a more rugged and uneven terrain, shaped by repeated deposits of sand, gravel, and stones. Here, dry-soil plants like field scabious, thyme, bedstraw, and sea thrift thrive, making the area botanically diverse and interesting.
