Visit Hjarnø’s art gallery
Galleri Kirkesvinget is located directly opposite Hjarnø Church and a 5-minute walk from the ferry service to the island. There are alternating exhibitions here of paintings, ceramics, handicrafts and much more. The exhibiting artists are local islanders or from the mainland, so stop by for an insight into culture and creativity.
Come and admire the many works and be inspired and should completely fall for one of the fantastic works of art, then contact the proprietor and hear about the possibility of buying it to take home.
Open all summer
Galleri Kirkesvinget is open for guests in June, July and August, and as a starting point, the gallery is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. However, there may be days when the proprietor has a private errand and the gallery is therefore closed. Please contact the proprietor in advance if you want to be on the safe side.
Stay overnight at the gallery
Do you want to stay a little longer? On the grounds where you will find the gallery, there is also a lovely, large holiday apartment that can be rented. The 100 sqm apartment can be booked for a night, a weekend or a week - it’s up to you. Perfect for a family on an island holiday or the artist who wants to spend the night surrounded by beautiful subjects.
The charming island in Horsens Fjord
Little Hjarnø in Horsens Fjord has beautiful scenery with rich wildlife, and you will undoubtedly feel the cosy island atmosphere in the small streets where time stands still. Here you will find eateries, shopping facilities, a farm shop and yes... a gallery. Everywhere you will be greeted by friendly glances.
The ferry to Hjarnø departs more than 30 times a day from Snaptun and the trip takes just 5 minutes.
