Fjelsted Church

Fjelsted Church, like Harndrup Church, reflects changes over time and the growth of the local population. The church also contains valuable furnishings, especially from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

The church is located in the centre of the small village of Fjelsted, approximately twenty kilometres east of Middelfart.

Church building:
The Romanesque church consists of a choir and a nave. In the late Gothic period, a tower and a porch on the south side were added. The north transept was constructed after the mid-nineteenth century.

While Danish churches are normally oriented east-west, the choir of Fjelsted Church is slightly rotated towards the north. Today, the church appears whitewashed with red tiled roofs.
