The station building in Filskov is a small architectural gem that was built in 1917. It was inaugurated at the same time as the opening of the Diagonal Line between Bramming and Silkeborg. Passenger traffic ceased in 1971 and freight traffic in 1977. The station building is now privately owned, but its exterior can be admired by everyone. The building originally had red roof tiles, but is otherwise well preserved.
The station building was designed by DSB's chief architect Heinrich Wenck (1851-1936) at a time when Denmark's railway network was expanding rapidly. Wenck designed most of the many station buildings of the time. He also designed guardhouses, command posts, depots, railway workers' houses, warehouses and toilet buildings. Wenck's style was national romantic with the use of Swedish red and dark green colors. He was a titular professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
The railway line is now a popular hiking and cycling trail called The Crooked Line. This was the popular name for the Diagonal Line.
