History of the Estate
Erholm Estate has a history dating back to the 16th century, but the present Erholm was founded in 1720. In 1850, the original timber-framed farm was demolished, and the current manor house was built in neo-Gothic style based on drawings by architect J.D. Herholdt, who also designed the old Copenhagen University Library and Odense City Hall.
The building was completed in 1854 and was one of the most modern manors in Denmark at the time, featuring one of the country's first central heating systems. Later, a staircase tower designed by Martin Borch was added, giving the main building the appearance it has today.
Throughout centuries, Erholm has adapted to the agricultural development, transitioning from an estate with numerous forest workers, coachmen, and gardeners to a modern operation with a small but highly efficient workforce. Today, the forest is managed by Anders Cederfeld de Simonsen, while the agricultural operations are handled by Jan Cederfeld de Simonsen.
Erholm Park
Erholm Park is one of Denmark’s best-preserved manor parks in the English romantic landscape style. It was designed between 1850-1854 by Royal Garden Inspector, landscape gardener Tyge Rothe. The park is renowned for its rolling landscapes, winding paths, idyllic lakes, and rare tree species from both Denmark and abroad.
The park is open to the public until sunset, and the entrance fee of 20 DKK contributes to its maintenance.

At Erholm Estate, you will find an exciting food market filled with the finest specialties and high-quality ingredients from local Funen food producers.
Every Saturday, all year round, Erholm Food Market welcomes visitors to explore a variety of local delicacies and quality products, from specially roasted coffee and whisky to fresh vegetables and high-quality meats.

Photography
Erholm Park provides a picturesque setting for wedding photography and other special occasions. Photography in the publicly accessible areas of the park is allowed only upon payment of a fee.
