Jordløse Bakker – Part of the South Funen Alps
Jordløse Bakker is part of the South Funen Alps, a rolling ridge of hills shaped during the last Ice Age. The area is an ancient grassland with a unique flora that only thrives under grazing. Here, the air hums with insects, butterflies, and birds, and the scent of heather and wildflowers fills the landscape. You’ll find nodding pasque flowers, devil’s-bit scabious, and heath sedge growing here.
Several hilltops offer magnificent views, and the highest point, Sandbjerg, can be reached via a footpath. The area also features a genuine kettle hole formed by melting ice masses. Near the parking area, you’ll find tables and benches for a picnic, and there is even a shelter where you can enjoy your packed lunch in comfort.
