Two Brothers

Take a walk in the past

This sculpture was originally commissioned privately to stand at the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. However, It became too expensive for the buyer, so with the support from the State Art Fund it was made into a smaller edition and was still placed on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. The story behind the sculpture is that it is in memory of Archbishop Eskild and his brother Svend, who died on the Mount of Olives during a pilgrimage.

In connection with the Regional Hospital Holstebro's 100th anniversary, the Art Committee succeeds in getting the sculpture back to Denmark. It was a gift from Ringkøbing County as well as various suppliers to the hospital and it now stands in the parking lot of the Regional Hospital Holstebro.

Other sculptures made by Erik Heide include Wind, The Iron Rose and Birn's bees here in Holstebro.
