Ringkøbing Church

Take a walk in the past

The church stands in the centre of the town. Dating back to the 14th century, the ground plan of the church with its two later additions forms a cross. A unique feature is the tower which is broader at the top than at the bottom, perhaps the result of an architectural sleight-of-hand. In 1995-96 major renovations of the interior, with restoration of all historical furnishings. Note also the new altarpiece by the artist Arne Haugen Soerensen which dominate the interior. The front piece of the old organ from 1633 is preserved. The organ itself is newer.
