Discover a creative hub in the heart of Roskilde's vibrant MUSICON district. KunstSmedjen hosts six small galleries with resident artists, artist studios, a café, stage, open workshops, and an art school – all run by volunteers with free admission.
The gallery presents regularly changing exhibitions featuring both Danish and international art. Every three weeks, the artworks are refreshed. You can also meet the artists in their studios and explore their work, often available for purchase.

Events
KunstSmedjen’s stage is a lively venue where you can experience music, theatre, talks, debates and more. The venue collaborates with local organisations like Steps Ahead and Roskilde Teater, creating a warm atmosphere in the old forge when skilled performing artists take to the stage. You can enjoy live music and performances 1–2 times a month. See the current programme here

Cosy Café
The café is open daily and offers refreshments you can enjoy in artistic surroundings. KunstSmedjen is open every day from 12:00 to 16:00 with free admission.
The Association Kunst på Musicon
KunstSmedjen is part of the association Kunst på Musicon and operates independently of public funding. The venue, once a concrete factory, now serves as a lively centre for art and culture.
