Take a walk in the past
In 1955 St. Løvklit was declared an area of outstanding beauty. Løvklit is a part of "Kærgård Klitplantage" owned by the Danish State.
The conservation was aimed to insure and preserve a rest of the ealier oakforests which were along the westcoast of Jutland. Through excavations it has been found out, that the very low oakvegetation in reality are the outermost branches of an oakforest, covered of a many meters thick layer of sand, what has settled so slowly, that the oaks were able to grow - in time as much as the sand settled.
