Hurup

Take a walk in the past

Hurup is the second largest town in Thy; the city's history is not long, but it can boast a fast and interesting development. In the late 1800s Hurup was a humble collection of small homes, but in 1882 the railroad came! And then the city began to grow... by leaps and bounds.

The town's landmark, "Teutonerstøtten", was erected in 1984 and is a seven meter tall stoneware pillar ofclear blue ceramic made by Erik Nyholm.

The lovely pedestrian zone invites you to a shopping trip. And Hurup is especially famous for "Store Torvedag" (Market Day). The markets are held every Monday, throughout the summer, and they're very popular.

In the pretty town park there are beautiful wooden sculptures.

At Sydthy Spa & Pool you really can spoil yourself. Here you will find a Wellness and Spa centre, as well as Roman and Egyptian baths. Furthermore, there is a large swimming pool, a kids pool, a warm baby pool, and a water slide.
