Welcome to Holberg Jewellery – The Blue Corner
Step into a world where precious metals and gemstones are transformed into timeless works of art – created with passion, tradition, and deep respect for craftsmanship.
At Holberg Jewellery, you’ll discover exclusive, handcrafted jewellery designed for the discerning and quality-conscious. With over 40 years of experience in jewellery making and design, we combine traditional goldsmithing with alternative techniques, resulting in pieces that are as unique as the individuals who wear them.
Every piece is designed and hand-forged in our own workshop, which means each item is one-of-a-kind and made in limited numbers. We use only genuine, high-quality materials such as silver, gold, platinum, and carefully selected gemstones – ensuring your jewellery is truly exceptional.
Our Story
Holberg Jewellery – also known as The Blue Corner – was founded in 1987 in the charming coastal town of Lønstrup by goldsmith Claus Holberg Nørager. Claus is self-taught and spent years travelling the world with his tools – learning, observing, and gathering inspiration from diverse cultures and techniques. His journeys and experiences shaped the distinctive style that continues to define our jewellery today.
In 1998, Claus’ son, Mikkel Holberg Nørager, joined the business – first as a part-time helper and later as an apprentice. In 2006, Mikkel graduated as a goldsmith from the School of Goldsmithing in Copenhagen with top marks, earning a prestigious silver medal for his final masterpiece.
Mikkel carries on the family’s legacy while adding his own modern vision. Inspired by the dramatic landscapes of Lønstrup – the sea, the cliffs, and the ever-changing light – his designs reflect the raw beauty of nature. In 2024, Mikkel officially took over Holberg Jewellery, continuing the tradition with the same passion and dedication on which it was founded.
“What does it take to earn a silver medal for your journeyman’s piece?”
(Earning a silver medal as a goldsmith upon completing an education is a special recognitionawarded to the most talented and skilled students in their final exam.
In Denmark, silver medals are awarded at the end of a vocational education as a goldsmith, given to those who have performed exceptionally well in both the practical and theoretical parts of their education.
Receiving a silver medal as a goldsmith is a great honor and a recognition of both your technical skillsand creative approach to the craft of jewelry making.)
We look forward to welcoming you to Holberg Jewellery
