Monastery institution founded in the 12th century.
The Franciscan monastery was founded in 1235 as a centre for the mendicant friars. At the time of the Reformation the monks were chased out of the town, and the king decided that the monastery should be used as a hospital. Today the old buildings are renovated with apartments for elderly people.
