Ristinge Hale is made up of materials from Ristinge Klint, brought here by the coastal current.
Constitutes the innermost part of a series of low islands and sandbanks (marine formations) created on top of a shallow, arcuate, submarine sill that represents a glacial margin from the end of the last ice age. The line continues over towards Ærø, where it joins the Eriks Hale area.
