Take a walk in the past
On the sea side of the road between Hvide Sande and Nymindegab, Galleri Skippergården is situated as a relic from the 17th century’s art colony “Nymindegabmalerne”, but still connected to the rest of the world, and filled with more modern depictions of the beautiful nature and equally beautiful, swimming women in many shapes, painted on canvas, in water colour or drawings of the artist couple, Astrid Hygom and Leif H. Jacobsen.
This gallery is located in an old dune farm from 1877 and it opened its doors for the first time in the summer of 1999. Astrid Hygom and Leif H. Jacobsen exhibit paintings, drawings, and water colours, and they also exhibit wood turnings by Verner Nielsen. Check the website for opening hours.
