Furesøbadet

Wild swimming

Furesøbad, located right next to the lake, is one of the best bathing spots in the country. It has been a public swimming location since the early twentieth century, but it wasn’t until In 1974 that the two local municipalities, Værløse and Farum, built a joint municipal water sports facility. In 2001, Furesøbad was heavily renovated and this is what you will experience today.

Furesøbad truly is an exhilarating aquatic experience all year round, but opening hours vary depending on the time of year. Obviously, the area really comes into its own during the summer months. Here you can launch yourself into the water from our bathing bridge and relax on our landscaped beach, while the younger children, or those of you young at heart, can splash around in the paddling pool.

If you need a break from all that sand and water, there is a grassy playing area. For any explorers inclined to go wandering, there is plenty of forest and natural areas nearby!

Lakeside dining

When you get thirsty or if you're hungry, there’s a kiosk and also Restaurant Furesøbad. The kiosk sells ice cream, soft drinks, sweets, slushies and fast food, while the restaurant boasts not only a spectacular view of Lake Furesø, but also a mean burger with fries, which is always a hit, especially with the kids.

Don’t fancy dining in? There are also barbecue areas you can use. But beware, Danes love a barbecue so in the busy months you might find them all taken!

So when the sun is shining and temperatures rise, there’s no better place to cool off with the family than Furesøbad.

Getting there

It takes under 30 minutes to drive to Furesøbad via Route 16 from central Copenhagen and there is onsite parking when you get there. Public transport is about 40 minutes and it’s super easy. Simply take the B-Train from Central Station to Farum Station, then it’s about a 20 minutes' walk. Want to cycle? That’ll take just over an hour via Route C95.
