Queen's Warehouse was built in the 17th century by Queen Sophie, who was married to King Frederick II. After becoming a widow in 1588, Queen Sophie lived at Nykøbing F. Castle. The widowed queen was a skilled entrepreneur and businesswoman, and her work made her the wealthiest woman in Northern Europe.

The warehouse was originally used to store grain and other goods transported to and from Nakskov Harbor. Over time, the warehouse has had various functions, but its historical significance as an important part of Nakskov's maritime trade is still evident today.
The warehouse is located at Nakskov Harbor, perpendicular to the quay, between other preserved warehouses. It stands beautifully with its yellow facade, black-tarred woodwork, and red tiled roof. The warehouse stands free, allowing you to view the building from all angles.
