Experience art and nature at Overdrevet Art / Atelier HeNochBa
In the heart of Skjoldungernes Land National Park, near Roskilde, you can visit Atelier HeNochBa and its adjoining sculpture garden. Here, art and nature exist side by side. The artist couple, Helge Nordstrøm and Christella Bamford, work professionally with painting, graphics, sculptures, ceramics, and unique art tapestries, which you can admire up close.
The atelier and sculpture garden are beautifully located along the Skjoldungestien hiking trail on the edge of the Bidstrup Forests. Here, you can explore both the workshop and the garden, where the artworks blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.
Art and sculptures in scenic surroundings
As a visitor, you can enjoy a wide range of art forms – from paintings and drawings to sculptures in bronze, fibre concrete, and glass. In the sculpture garden, you can wander among the many works while taking in the view across Skov-Hastrup Overdrev, a protected meadow landscape typical of this part of Zealand.
Guided tours and artistic conversations
You can also book a guided tour of the atelier, where the artists explain their working processes and the ideas behind their creations. The tour lasts about two hours and includes coffee, wine, and snacks. The experience can be combined with a hike in the area or a picnic in the garden.
Open studio
The atelier is open to visitors on the last weekend of each month from 1–5 p.m. You can also call ahead to arrange a visit at other times. If you fancy a spontaneous experience, feel free to drop by for an informal art break in these idyllic surroundings.
