    Scissors for a Brush
    Permanent exhibition - Bit Vejle
In the permanent exhibition, you will experience our collection of masterpieces by the world renowned psaligrapher Bit Vejle, created with an embroidery scissor as the only tool. Vejle’s many paper cuts contain worlds of stories, filled wondrous motifs, but her artistic practice consists of much more than just pretty flowers and birds. Each and every piece has its very own story to tell and invites the viewer to reflect and interpret. Some touch on serious matters, while others celebrate the small, but important joys of life.

    Paper Workshop
Experience meaningful interaction across generations, as we invite you to explore the paper material. In addition to visiting Museum for Papirkunst's exhibitions, you can also try your hand at paper art yourself in the Paper Workshop. We have all the materials you will need - you just have to let your imagination and creativity run wild. You will find a wealth of paper in different colors and textures, scissors, punching irons, glue, inspiration books, and much more – all available as part of your entrance ticket.

    Kids only!
Do you find just looking at art a bit boring? Do not worry! You do not have to at Museum for Papirkunst. When visiting us, you will receive an activity suitcase, forbidden for adults and filled with fun and educational games. Though some activities change with the current exhibitions, the suitcase always contains a boarding pass for Paper-Plane Airport, a magnifying glass for finding all of the fun and strange characters in Bit Vejle’s paper cuts, and a template for cutting your very own Mill Man - just like Hans Christian Andersen himself!

    Fårup Sommerland – amusement park

    4.04 km

Experiences for kids and grown-ups alike

At Fårup Sommerland, you can enjoy the day at your own pace. There’s plenty for the little ones, plenty for those who love a bit of wind-in-your-hair speed - and, thankfully, plenty of “let’s take a break in the shade” moments in between.

For thrill-seekers who want speed and butterflies

The forest is packed with experiences for every tempo — from family-friendly favourites to rides that really deliver that adrenaline rush. If you love fast rides, look out for:

    • Orkanen – Northern Europe’s only roller coaster that runs both above and below water.

    • Lynet – famous for its rocket start: 0–80 km/h in just 2 seconds.

    • Falken – Denmark’s fastest wooden coaster (top speed 75 km/h).

And then there’s the park’s biggest showstopper:

Fønix – Denmark’s biggest roller coaster

Fønix rises around 40 metres above the forest floor and races through the treetops with a top speed of about 95 km/h (minimum height 120 cm). In 2022, it also won several international awards, including “Best Roller Coaster in Europe” and “Europe’s Best New Roller Coaster.”

    Denmark’s biggest Aquapark

Don’t forget your swimwear - Fårup’s Aquapark offers water slides, waves, and splashy fun for the whole family. In 2024, the Aquapark was expanded with two new large water slides, a new children’s water play area, and new changing facilities.

Stay in the middle of Denmark’s funniest forest

Want to make it extra easy (and extra cosy)? Stay overnight at Hotel Fårup, the park’s own 4-star family hotel — with a forest theme all the way into the rooms.

    Accessibility and guests with disabilities

Fårup offers a range of solutions for guests with disabilities and specific needs, such as companion arrangements and assistive services via Guest Service, including:

    • Free companion (18+) with a valid companion card

    • “Vis Hensyn” card (available from Guest Service)

    • Accessible parking spaces, accessible toilets, and the option to reserve a wheelchair in advance (limited availability)

    The Troll Museum (Troldemuseet)

    21.94 km

The old troll factory at Gjøl houses the troll museum “Troldemuseet”.

“Troldemuseet” tells us the story about Thomas Dam and the lucky trolls (Lykketroldene) from Gjøl, and how great an artist he was.

In approx.1930 Thomas Dam started carving wooden figures. They become very popular and sold readily. New methods came into use, and in the 1940’s we saw the first creatures looking like trolls in clay and on paintings.

Thomas Dam has worked in wood, clay, rubber, ceramics and stoneware. Furthermore, he has made gigantic trolls for i.a. Karolinelund, Bakken and shopping centres at home and abroad.

The story is told by means of modern technology and an exhibition of various products in many different materials.

    Follow us on Facebook Troldemuseet.

If you want a guided tour with more history, it will be possible.
