    Møgeltønder Antik

    0.22 km

Posselts Gård, located at Slotsgade 14, is historically and architecturally interesting, located in Denmark's probably the most beautiful rural street, the picturesque Slotsgade in Møgeltønder.

The stately, charming and listed four-length courtyard was built in the 18th century by Chancellor HH Holm and preserved completely intact with high-ceilinged living rooms, a suite with fitted wardrobes and rare 18th century oil paintings framed over the doors and kitchen with partly original 18th century inventory.

In the building today, Butik Slotsgaden, antique and flea finds, is decorated.

    Guldhornsstenene - Tønder

    1.85 km

The famous Golden Horns were found at Gallehus, the first by a lace maker, Kjerstine Svendsdatter, in 1639, and the second in 1734 by Erik Lassen, a small farmer.

The sites are marked by memorial stones. The horns likely dated from about 400 AD and were probably used as part of some sort of religious ceremony.

They were sent to the Royal Treasury in Copenhagen for safekeeping but were stolen in 1802 and melted down.

Copies can be seen in Tønder Museum.

    The House of Mayor Richtsen

    3.94 km

The house was built in 1777 by the rich lace merchant and mayor Carsten Richtsen.

Large 2-storey baroque building with large bay windows and a beautiful sandstone portal with Rococo ornaments and doors. Probably the city's most beautiful house.

The house is not only geographically located in the border country, but is also architecturally a hybrid composed of several different styles and influences. As a testimony to the cultural and architectural development of Southern Denmark, it is not only of regional but also of national importance and as such indispensable to the Danish cultural heritage.
