  Det Historisk Arbejdende Værksted is an active working local museum housed in the former Holeby Elværk, a beautiful historic power station from 1911.

  The small cultural museum includes a workshop with a working blacksmith's forge where visitors can try out their skills at the crossbow bolt. It requires both concentration and good arm strength!

  Visitors also have the opportunity to see a collection of machine tools from the period 1910 to 1935 and experience the two-cylinder diesel engine in action. The diesel engine was built in 1935 at the nearby Holeby Diesel Engine Factory.

   

  As a good complement to the historical working workshop, various historical tools are on display.

  Fuglse Kirke

  The church is one of the Lolland eldest churches and it belongs to the so called the ?granite churches?, which was constructed in the 1100th century in Lolland.
  
  Fuglse Church was in the medieval time, consecrated to Sct. Laurentius. His love to the poor as he called it ?The Church of Cherish? led him to be one the most charming heroes during his time. Many children were named after him in the following years; names like Laurits, Laust, Lars and Lorens.
  
  After a total reconstruction in 1595, to The Holy Trefoldighed. The church belonged to the Crown until 1689. From until then in 1835 belonged to Søholt and further to 1850 belonged to Kærstrup, and freehold in 1916. In its original existing figure, the church is a Renaissance building, consisting of a chancel, a nave and a tower in the west and the burial chapel in the north and south, originally established by manor family Søholt and Kærstrup.

  Holeby Kirke

  The church is situated in the middle of the parish, and has no tower. It is not that much decorated, but it has a very old, big baptismal font and a pulpit from 1586 which is now painted with colour. Its altarpiece is from 1850, and the altar pictures showing Jesus` crucification.

  Bursø Kirke

  The church is placed in the middle of the village. It doesn’t have much decoration, but there is a fresco in the chorus. The altar piece dates from the year 1689. It is given from the prefect H.U. von Lutzow and his wife E.C. von Schager. Their weapons are placed on the front. The church has no tower.

  Flårup Old Smithy

  The small village community of Flårup near Holeby on Lolland shares the management of the smithy and the associated community centre.

  The former smithy is now a small museum and looks much as it did when it was last used in 1983. The workshop still houses the original axe, bellows and crossbow, all of which are still well preserved.

  
  The smithy is also the village meeting place and hosts several local activities throughout the year, such as the annual summer party and Shrovetide.

  You can enjoy your food both inside and outside, as there is room for about 20 people at the smithy's tables and benches.

  Sædinge Kirke

  Previously called "The Church Along The Beach", when the inlet stretched out to the church.
  
  It is constructed with red monk bricks.
  
  Part of chalk paintings from 1300-1480 is still available.
  
  Beside the chancel, closer to the dike, there has been a spring. Around 1636, the churchyard was a market. The tombstones are reinforced with iron bars to protect them against the animals.
  
  Sædinge Church was first constructed around 1250.

  The Museum Polish Barrack

  4.14 km

  Of the 30 or so similar Polish barracks built on Lolland and Falster, this is the best preserved. The buildings were called barracks because they housed a large number of labourers and were often located far from other settlements.

  The museum houses a large collection of field tools, paper cuttings from the beet girls and a very extensive collection of Catholic photographs. The objects on display were primarily donated by Polish descendants, as many of the seasonal labourers ended up staying and settling permanently, especially on Lolland. Many of the Polish place names and surnames bear witness to this.

  The Polish barracks in Tågerup near Rødby, which is a listed building, was designed by architect H.C. Glahn, Nykøbing Falster, Denmark. Glahn, Nykøbing Falster for the neighbouring Lungholm estate, and the museum is the only one of its kind in Europe.

  The museum has received the prestigious Polish international award "Witnesses of History" and is supported by the Polish Ministry of Culture, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Embassy in Denmark.

• Errindlev Dairy

  The impressive building Errindslev Dairy consists of three parts: The story of the dairy, a chair museum and a major painting exhibition.

  Errindslev Dairy was built as a cooperative dairy in 1887 and from the 1960s they specialised in cheeses. Really good cheeses, which is why some of the cheese warehouses have been preserved, along with the salt vats and wax vats used to coat the cheeses.

  The dairy also contains a large painting exhibition and a collection of around 1400 chairs from a wide range of time periods. Both paintings and chairs are for sale.

  One of the side buildings also houses a flea market with great opportunities to make an exciting second-hand purchase.
