At Høgdal you can experience life as it was in the old days with historical workshops and various events throughout the year. The visitor centre has an exciting and unusual history - and that history is the reason why the farm is now open to anyone interested.
Høgdal dates back to 1796, when Jens Jensen Lemming and his family built the farm. Since then, the property has been passed down from father to son for five generations.
The fifth generation on the farm was Jens and Peder Jensen. The two brothers are the focal point of Høgdal's history and the reason why today we have a fine visitor farm where time has been allowed to stand still.
Events and visits
Throughout the year, you have the opportunity to participate in a number of cultural-historical events such as guided mushroom tours, animal trails, fiddler days and much more.

You are also always welcome to explore the buildings from the outside or take a walk around the grounds to meet the farm's goats, cats and chickens, even when it's not open. You can also bring a packed lunch and enjoy it in the courtyard. Please note that there is only access to the toilet when the farm is open.
It is also possible for schools and groups to book guided tours, stays with activities such as making needle felt and beeswax figures, throwing pea bags and horseshoes, grinding flour in small coffee mills, carding and spinning with wool, visiting cats, goats and chickens - and much more.
