Æ Liebestempel - Pavillon in Tønder
Take a walk in the past
Carsten Richtsen (Mayor in Tonder 1990-1812), brought an avenue in 1800 on the Northern dike with a footpath, that citizens of Tonder were free to use. Along the path he also built a pavilion of wood that could be used for a little rest, or used as a small music scene.
The pavilion is protected and known as “Liebestempel” (temple of love) and it is said that many people have been lovers in this particular pavilion.
