Vejle Art Museum
Take a walk in the past
The stories at the museum are recognisable, while also offering surprising views of the world. Sometimes it’s the bigger picture; other times a miniature view – but always something that leaves an impression! Get the family off the couch or invite a good friend to spend a couple of inspiring hours at Vejle Art Museum.
Among the experiences at the museum is a large collection of graphic works, paintings from the Danish Golden Age, portraits in all shapes and sizes, and Expressionist art by a string of Danish artists, most prominently Asger Jorn who later co-founded the CoBra movement.
With the second-largest collection of graphic works in Denmark, Vejle Art Museum is a leading institution within graphic art and artworks on paper. The collections include 51 etchings by Rembrandt and graphic prints by other of history’s most famous artists. Over the years, the collections have expanded with distinctive works representing new currents in contemporary art.
Vejle Art Museum features two major special exhibitions in addition to three to five smaller exhibitions annually.
Vejle Art Museum is closed on Mondays except on Easter Monday and Whit Monday.
Vejle Art Museum is part of Vejlemuseerne. Find information on all exhibitions and events at www.vejlemuseerne.dk.
