A true nature paradise in Thyholm on the Limfjord
Tambohus Kro & Badehotel is situated on the peninsula Thyholm right down to the Limfjord. You cannot find a more beautiful and peaceful site, but is not the lovely scenery, which has decided that an inn should be situated here.
In 1823 a young fisherman named Christen Pedersen settled down here, and he was always called Chresten Tambour (the Drummer) because he had been a drummer when he served in the army. In 1830 he got permission to run the ferry to the island Jegindø as a reward for saving a woman from drowning, and 12 years later he was royally licensed to run a ferry inn named Tambohus Kro. This time, the license was given because he had contributed to catching a gang of criminal gipsies. However, a bridge has replaced the ferry to Jegindø a long time ago.
