Lovely hotel on Langeland in the South Funen archipelago

When we sing the Danish national anthem about the large beech groves near the salty eastern beach, it is actually about a wood on the island Langeland. The author Oethlenschläger namely got inspired by a visit to the wood Stengade Skov, which is situated right beside the belt Langelands Bælt, only a stone s throw from the castle Tranekær Slot. Here the beech trees grow right beside the coast in many places, so it is indeed true when we sing that bøgen spejler sin top in bølgen blå (the blue waves of the sea reflect the top of the beech trees ).

All in all, the nature of Langeland is very beautiful and it invites to long walks. It is also on Langeland that we find one of the best beaches in Denmark, namely Ristinge Strand with its fine white sand covering almost 10 km. From the beach there are only a few kilometres to Humble, where Humble Kro is situated on the corner in the middle of the main street. In the hotel you will always meet friendliness, and the menu comprises both Hamburg steaks and steaks and onions and for the children there is a small schnitzel with fried potatoes.

Close to one of Denmark's best beaches

In the northern part of the town lies King Humble s grave, a long barrow dating from the later Stone Age. This means that it is at least 4,000 years old. King Humble is said to have been a king somewhere in Denmark with a kingdom of an unknown size approximately in 300 AD, but it is unknown why he was buried in the much older long barrow. Moreover, large parts of South Langeland are a bird sanctuary, e.g. Tryggelev Nor and the area around Gulstav in the south. On Langeland there are also many ceramists and artists whose workshops are open all the year round.

Each room has its own opening out to a terrace. Close to fine beaches, wind surfing, angling, and golfing. The inn offers weekend stays, mini holidays and golf holidays, and it has room for parties of up to 100 persons in the old village hall, which has been turned into the banqueting room of the hotel.
