Lovely hotel on Langeland in the South Funen archipelago
When we sing the Danish national anthem about the large beech groves near the salty eastern beach, it is actually about a wood on the island Langeland. The author Oethlenschläger namely got inspired by a visit to the wood Stengade Skov, which is situated right beside the belt Langelands Bælt, only a stone s throw from the castle Tranekær Slot. Here the beech trees grow right beside the coast in many places, so it is indeed true when we sing that bøgen spejler sin top in bølgen blå (the blue waves of the sea reflect the top of the beech trees ).
All in all, the nature of Langeland is very beautiful and it invites to long walks. It is also on Langeland that we find one of the best beaches in Denmark, namely Ristinge Strand with its fine white sand covering almost 10 km. From the beach there are only a few kilometres to Humble, where Humble Kro is situated on the corner in the middle of the main street. In the hotel you will always meet friendliness, and the menu comprises both Hamburg steaks and steaks and onions and for the children there is a small schnitzel with fried potatoes.
