A hotel has stood on the corner of Bredgade and Skolegade in Herning since 1896. Back then it was called the Herning Missionshotel – or Herning Temperance Hotel – and it was on two storeys with an adjoining stable for travellers. Subsequently, the hotel grew considerably, with two additional storeys being added, while the stable building became redundant and was demolished. By the 1990s, the temperance hotels had had their day, and the hotel was therefore transformed into a ‘garni’ hotel, i.e. a hotel that only serves breakfast, with rooms and a breakfast room, where the focus is on providing a very high standard of personal service.
In 2016, all the hotel’s 52 rooms were fully renovated, so that they are now bright, spacious and very comfortable, with new furniture and, of course, with an en-suite bathroom, telephone, radio, flat screen TV and wireless internet access. There is a lift to all the floors, and the hotel’s elegant reception area has three specially designed niches, where guests can use the phone and computer with internet access. The hotel also has a charming bar, where you can enjoy a nightcap before retiring to your comfortable bed.
The hotel has its own car park, where guests can park free of charge, while Herning railway station is only a few hundred metres away. If you are flying in or out, the airport taxi drives directly from the hotel to Midtjyllands Airport 65 minutes before each flight departure.
